Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it!  Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness.  Psalm 96: 11-13

Today we drove Hwy 101 North from Cloverdale to Crescent City sometimes through fields of crops and vineyards, sometimes through forests of redwoods and sometimes with foggy ocean views.

Tonight we are staying in a gorgeous KOA (no, really) in Crescent City, right on Hwy 101, in a pull-through with 50 amps and redwood trees all around us.

Tomorrow off to Pacific City, OR!

Monday, July 28

Psalm 100:5    For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever!

We started out from Mission RV Park (aka Shady Pines) only 25 minutes behind schedule and had a fantastic trip to Rancho Oso RV Park in Santa Barbara.  The road to the Park is steep and has hairpin bends, but Den was a trooper and got us there safely.  While we were checking in and hooking up, my laptop was in direct sun and wouldn't even turn on - so no blog until now when I have managed to get it working - limping along, but we'll see how long we can make it last!

We enjoyed the barbecue at Rancho Oso and beautiful pastoral scene of the horses and rolling hills.  We had an added bonus of catching up with Den's brother Fred and family who were in Solvang for the day.

Next day we were in Paicines, near Hollister, CA where I discovered that there are always kind folks who are willing to rescue an RV damsel in distress!

Tonight we are in Cloverdale, CA in a beautiful RV park with pull-throughs and pleasant people all around us.

Tomorrow we set off for Crescent City, CA where we are hopeful to have time to see the big trees.

Hopefully my laptop will stay alive long enough to do some more posts!

This is my practice attempt at blogging - getting ready for our trip across the USA.  I think it will be fun to let our friends know where we are and what we're doing.

We leave on Saturday, July 26 - first stop Santa Barbara.  We are so thankful that the Lord has brought us to this point in our lives where we can be together and enjoy his rest and his provision.
